Getting enrolled in a weight loss program

Posted by admin on Nov 12, 2008 in Health and Fitness

The big question lies in the many people who still don’t have that kind of motivation to loose their weight as much as they can, and of course that’s a long way to go or that depends on how much weight you are packing today. A lot of people is having this kind of problem and a lot still don’t have an idea of what they would do in order to have a weight loss.

They should as much as possible motivate themselves to get into solving the problems that they are in right at this moment, the weight loss program that promises to bring them to the state that they would be happy about being in that is a dream amongst many people today. Professionals can do that very well, for they have been in that practice in the long run and they absolutely have lots of things more that they would share to people.

The Mind - Body - Spirit Connection in the Medicine of Light

Posted by admin on May 28, 2008 in Health and Fitness

The work being done on light in theology as reflected in the Bible and Judaeo Christian tradition, philosophy, physics, medicine and near-death experiences is directing us to a revolutionary breakthrough in terms of a new model - a new approach to reality. Progress in all of these areas of human curiosity is being driven by brilliant and original insights into the very nature of the foundational stuff of the universe - light - an elusive, pervasive, something or someone!

This new approach to reality sees the Mind -Body - Spirit connection as an essential insight if we are to even begin to comprehend the inner and outer worlds that together reveal to us what exists - what is truly real.

After more than two decades of reading other’s works, my own experiences, and pondering, I came to the conclusion that it made sense to use the Mind - Body - Spirit connection as the basic framework for presenting the human experience of light in the Bible and Judaeo Christian tradition, philosophy, physics, medicine, and near-death experiences. Light is the ultimate stuff of all that exists as both a something and a someone, calling each of us into life.

If light is indeed the foundational, basic stuff of all that exists then it is easy to understand why light based medical technologies and medications are the most effective and the non-invasive form of medicine practiced in the early twenty-first century. They are utilizing the basic constituent element of the universe - light - in one or another of its many forms.

Long before I was involved in a serious study of the phenomenon of light, I recognized in myself an intense sensitivity to light in all its forms. From my recollection of the early years of my life, my sleep patterns have always been highly affected by light. Even if I had been sleeping for eight hours or so before the time of my rising, if the rising time was prior to natural daylight I found it very difficult to get out of bed and still do. As I am aging into my mid-seventies my body clock winds down sooner at the end of natural daylight but awakens as soon as natural daylight comes streaming into my bedroom window.

I have always wanted to be in natural daylight as much as possible during the day either outdoors, or if indoors, working by a window with abundant natural light. My career as a public school teacher, principal, and college professor found me maximizing natural light in my classrooms and requesting office space with abundant windows as sources of natural light. I seldom turned on the artificial lights, which were either incandescent or limited spectrum florescent, until forced to do so by natural darkness when my work schedule kept me there past the end of daylight. I have always felt good in the light. It has been a lifelong medicine for me.

Natural Medicine - The Way Home

Posted by admin on May 5, 2008 in Health and Fitness

Western medicine plays a significant role today. Their diagnostics and surgical procedures are world class and there are many doctors today tending towards recommending healthy alternative therapies. However, the tradition of prescribing medications that are heavily marketed by the multinational drug Corporations and the societal side effects have to be addressed.

These drugs have power over us. They corner us and make us feel small. We turn to the western model for help when we are trying to seek balance and their medicinal options make us become needy and weak. They do not arm us with the tools necessary to face this world and our role in it. All purpose is lost when all we are doing is surviving by synthetically detaching. There is a general belief when seeking this help that the antidepressants and painkillers prescribed are the doorway to doing the right thing for your life, ‘taking control’. Western pharmaceuticals are the Backdoor OUT of people’s lives and people are taking them because they want to feel better. How can you feel better when you have no control over yourself? When something external is dictating whether you will experience happiness today?

The next step down from legal drug users are those who choose to self medicate with illegal substances. The people who take these are frowned upon because it’s illegal. These substances can be more powerful and potentially more dangerous but ultimately are a solution to the same problem, our society is desperately unhappy! Our society has become segregated, disconnected and impatient with a constant undertone of incredible fear. Fear of living. Fear of dying. Fear of loving. Fear of getting it wrong. Fear of getting it right!

There is no sense of community any more. People believe that they have to ‘be strong’ and do it on their own. It’s bullshit because they are not doing it on their own, they are using external substances to support themselves: legal or illegal is not even relevant. Everyone just wants their problems fixed today and no one wants to have to fight for their own wellness and balance. If someone else fixes it, people don’t ever really have to own how they got there in the first place, and look at how much of it they created themselves.

The human qualities that have been lost in this system are connection, trust, kindness, patience, persistence and commitment. How can you develop connection with your doctor when the outcome of the appointment is you being handed something that helps you to avoid addressing anything (whilst creating another problem entirely)? How can we develop trust with our community when a major side effect of drug taking is paranoia, and to support ever growing habits, deceit must be used? How can we be kind to others when we are not being kind to ourselves? What will teach us patience when our society celebrates the quick fix? How will we develop persistence when the core of the ‘quick fix’ is to give up? Where in our lives will we demonstrate commitment when this system is about avoiding it?

The first thing you should do twice a day is wash your face. By washing your face you can clean out your pores of oil and dead skin cells and make your face cleaner and healthier.

Growing Older

Posted by admin on Jun 18, 2007 in Health and Fitness

I am tired of people telling me how to grow older graciously. I am doing it the only way I know how. I am doing it kicking and screaming that I want to stay young and feel great. The truth is that as I grow older I have certain aches and pains. Sure I consider myself part of the New Middle Aged Group even though I am sixty plus, but that doesn’t mean that my life is entirely pain free. How about you? Do you find that your joints don’t work as well as they used to? Is your gait when you are walking not quite as fast as it used to be?

Don’t get me wrong. I love getting older - consider the alternative, but I think it is time to stop kidding ourselves that our bodies aren’t changing as we age. Our minds are a different story. In my case I am almost about ready to start feeling like a juvenile again, how about you? Don’t worry if you are starting to do silly things. If not now then when will you get the chance? If not you, who is going to enjoy your newfound sense of freedom? It’s okay to want to feel like a kid again. This opportunity only comes along once in a lifetime so don’t blow it. You wouldn’t want to limp around looking like your great grandfather, would you?

I don’t know about you, but all this talk about aging and pain, and lost opportunities is making me hungry. That’s another thing they are trying to take away from us. I like food, I like eating, but I am not a rabbit destined to nibble my way into oblivion eating a bunch of carrots. I like real food. I have been eating it all my life, and I don’t buy any of the diet guru’s personal greedy reasons to get me to take a diet.

As I stop and think about dieting it reminds me of sex. I find I don’t spend enough time thinking about sex. Is this because I am satiated from a lifetime of sex, or is it because the new erectile pills available on the market have made sex on demand a given. It’s enough to get me to stop reading my spam emails. I don’t look anything like the pictures they use as examples anyway, how about you? How sad, I vaguely remember with pleasure when I had to work for it. I had to make an effort. Now it is sex on demand. I don’t even enjoy movies on demand. I never know which one to choose. My advice to you is to be careful with the use of those potency pills; you might end up getting so sexed up so quickly that you won’t have time or the control to find your regular partner. Then God only knows what you will do or whom you will choose. If we are not careful according to some of the advertising I have seen for these potency pills we may end up having sex at the beach, in a restaurant, and sorry I can’t remember the other place. I must be having a senior moment. Oh now I remember, I think it was walking up a long stairway or down a long hotel hallway, I don’t remember. I wish I was better at filtering irrelevant thoughts out of my mind.

Acne Secrets - My Secret to Clear Skin

Posted by admin on Apr 26, 2007 in Health and Fitness

There are acne secrets that the greedy acne industry doesn’t want you to know - find out here:

Firstly, having suffered from acne for many years I found that natural acne treatments were the most effective. Antibiotics, accutane, man-made chemical cleansers and other synthetic treatments did nothing for my skin. They may work for you though, but I wouldn’t recommend them, and sooner or later you’ll realize that you’re just wasting your time with them.

The best acne treatment secret is to change your diet - Some food causes hormonal imbalance, and this results in breakouts. Whilst some food causes the balancing of hormones, and this results in clear skin. The idea is simple - eat less of the food that imbalances your hormones, and eat more of the food that balances your hormones.

The best food to eat is green vegetables: they balance hormones as they are packed with nutrients and enzymes found no where else. Try and eat some green vegetables everyday and you will notice a major improvement in your skin. This is no secret and most good nutritionists will recommend this for acne sufferers.
